Here I am in week 13 of P90X…the final “action” week of the program.
According to the guide, there is a 14th week that is a complete week of rest to give your body a break before any final testing or measurements are taken. To quote the P90X Fitness Guide, “Remember, strength improves and muscles grow while at rest. One more recovery week will get you into optimal condition to take your final Fit Test and ‘after’ photos”.
But I am addicted. I need to work out.
So while I am going to follow the guide and take a rest, I am already planning my next BeachBody program. My plan is to follow Insanity exactly as it is recommended but complement it with some P90X resistance routines. I will always do the resistance first, as I read somewhere that resistance followed by cardio leads to greater resistance results. ( I will need to find that reference to verify). This will clearly lead to a longer time commitment, but I think it will be worth it.
When conflict occurs, Insanity will trump the P90X workouts. So those are my rules. If you would like to see my schedule, click here for my P90X_Insanity Hybrid Schedule.
Any suggestions? Too ambitious? What changes would you make? Let me know by leaving a comment.
If you want to join me, leave me a comment and we can find a way to support each other…perhaps through the BeachBody WOWY Super Gym.
Cheers!
Looks like fun. Did you Steve Edwards blog on mixing P90X and Insanity? http://steve-edwards.blogspot.com/2010/04/mixing-insanity-and-p90x.html
The Steve Edwards link is a good one.

A really informative article. To me working towards weight loss should be a way of life rather than being a burden. I recently started a site regarding weight loss, I wish to quote a few lines from this article (I will give this source link, and credit to this site). Again..
Thanks in Advance
